What will having a strong online presence do for your non-profit organization?

“Internet fundraising grew more than 12% last year”, and that number continues to grow.

An optimized website, one that is engaging will give your visitors a reason to explore your site, and hopefully give you’re their name and email address to stay informed about your organization.  You may offer them a free piece of content or a free invite to an event in exchange for their email address to entice them.

Having great content will encourage people to visit the website regularly.  Your content should be updated regularly and based on what your visitors would like to read.  Having analytics on your website helps gather this data and should be reviewed by the board regularly.  Analytics should be driving all your marketing decisions, including your content strategy.

Optimizing your website for mobile is essential today.  Most analytic reports show a large percentage of visitors viewing websites through phones and other mobile devices.   Not having this function can have devastating effects.  Search engines like google are beginning to hide websites that do not offer mobile optimized websites.

Being active on social media will help you expand your reach and ultimately drive traffic to your website.  Installing social sharing tools will allow your advocates to share your website on their social media networks.
